Curriculum

PreK Programs

Our Preschool includes both PreK-3 (for 3 year olds) and PreK-4 (for 4 year olds). The curriculum is based on GELDS and GKIDS Standards, formulated by Georgia DECAL and the Georgia Department of Education respectively. Children will be taught through a variety of play-based, Montessori-inspired exercises.

Circle Time

Circle Time covers a variety of important practical life elements including, Days of the Week, Months of the Year, weather, seasons, emotions, and the monthly topic,

Motor Skills

Students practice small motor skills such as pencil grip while tracing or drawings, cutting with scissors, and sorting small objects by hand. Large motor skills are developed during designated outdoor and indoor play time and include running, jumping, and full body movements.

Language Development

Students are taught the English and Arabic alphabet with regards to letter recognition, sound, and writing, setting the foundation for reading.

Mathematics

Counting, number recognition, and order for numbers 0-10 taught. Students are introduced to basics of addition by the end of PreK-4.

Science and Social

A monthly or bi-weekly topic is introduced to the students that covers important social or science related concepts such as sharing or life cycle of the butterfly. 

Art

Students are encouraged to explore many different art mediums through weekly craft activities that are related to one of their subject lessons.

Curriculum

Elementary Programs

Our academic program is based on the Fayette County Public School Curriculum, and uses the same textbooks as well. With our small class sizes we are able to focus on developing and advancing the individual needs of each student, above and beyond the set curriculum.

English Language Arts (ELA)

Students learn a well rounded approach to English by having daily dedicated time to spelling, grammar, reading fluency, and reading comprehension. Language Arts is also incorporated into other subjects such as Science and Social Studies, to help students understand its importance in all subjects. 

Mathematics

Using the step-down approach, students are taught the guiding principles and slowly made proficient in each successive mathematical concept. Students use Common Core Standards, manipulatives, base-ten drawings, and real world scenarios to help deepen their understanding. 

Sciences

Engineering Design and Scientific Method are covered in depth at every grade level, as well as grade level appropriate Life Sciences, Physical Science, Earth and Atmosphere, and environmental studies. 

Social Studies

The Georgia Social Studies Standards are followed at each grade level, and teachers enhance the curriculum by relating to current world events or other historical events in a separate locale. 

Extended Learning Opportunities

In addition to the academic courses, Elementary students take daily courses to increase their knowledge and understanding of their religion. Students are also given the opportunity to learn the Arabic Language or receive extra help in existing courses.

Immersive Arabic

Learn how to speak and understand modern Arabic. 

Qur'an Memorization

Passages of the Qur’an, starting with the 30th Juz, taught to students at their individual pace.  

Qaida

Students taught how to read the Qur’an with correct pronunciation and Tajweed. 

Islamic Studies

Subjects covered: Aqeedah, Seerah of the Prophet (SAW), parts of salaat, daily duas, Prophets from Qur’an, Sahabahs and Sunnah.

Intervention

Students are referred for extra help in reading or math to help meet grade level standards. 

Elective: Art, Computer Literacy, Engineering, Health

Daily 30 min elective taught on a changing monthly cycle.
